XCOM 2 happens after the events of XCOM: Enemy Unknown and features a world where the aliens conquered the earth. They run the planet like a kind of worldwide police state, complete with brass knuckled severity spread to dissenters and hagiographic publicity running on all TVs.
XCOM 2 is divided into two main parts: base-building, which features kitting out soldiers, manufacturing equipment, and research and combat, which is turn-based and takes place on the ground. Most of the XCOM 2 2015 gameplay element is similar to the previous game.

In XCOM 2, players control commander of the Avenger, a versatile base for the XCOM. Players will give commands to soldiers and squad members in combat to fight against aliens during various missions while commanding the engineer and the research sector of the base to research and create new gadgets or improve the existing ones, to help players fight better in missions. Soldiers can be recruited, with every officer class having their own abilities and skill trees
XCOM 2 features fast-paced battle mechanics, in which there are a lot of quick missions where players must rush in buildings to finish the job and return to the extraction point quickly. The structure of the mission will also be different from previous game, because XCOM 2 is introducing secondary objectives for the first time in the XCOM franchise.
Customization is same as previous game, in which players have the ability to customize the soldiers’ names, personalities, costumes, and uniform. Additionally, nationalities, gender and weapons are also customizable. A one-on-one multiplayer mode will also be featured in the game. New type of enemies will also be introduced too, for example, the Viper and the new ADVENT faction.
