Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization has been released not that long ago and many fans of the series wonder how does it feel to be inside of this game? Well, this release has certain advantages but still there’re underworked aspects. Here they are.
Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization Overview
The game itself – Sword Art Online Hollow Realization PC, isn’t bad at all. However, its gameplay is somewhat inconsistent. There’s a plenty of smart ideas but they’re not wholesome. It would be much better if they all worked as one. In addition the storyline seems to have lost its anime strongest aspects and feels less exciting now.
Well, the plot is set in the events after the main storyline arcs of the Sword Art Online. There’re many characters coming back which brings us the memories of Aincrad. The story itself is long enough. It takes around 50 hours to complete it. The game is voiced perfectly and it is interesting to hear its sounds.
It was expected that in-game results would be connected with the death in real world which hasn’t happened unfortunately. It may feel nice at first to be out of serious danger but you’ll soon get tired of it.
The game is set in open world. It’s nice. But it tends to be boring at times when you have to run miles and miles visiting different places which are not very important. Soon after playing the game you feel that you want to see the story developing so you don’t enjoy gameplay itself.
There are a lot of enemies to battle against. Randomly occurring events are also numerous and useful because they give more XP. Such events are quite simple (for example, you need to kill a certain amount of monsters) but they’re quite engaging. You will want to complete them.
Combat System and AI
The game has introduced one button combat system which seems to be too simple. However, it is far from being true. For instance you should press it in time which isn’t always as simple as you can expect. If you hit the button in right time you’ll bring more damage. It feels like Prince of Persia to some extent.
You should also coordinate your actions and AI attacks. Sometimes it is also quite difficult and gives you higher reward. AI can attack or stay in position which is quite standard for games like this. You can also ask them to heal or use different skills.
When it comes to huge bosses you can’t but think of the early days of the franchise because they have inherited a lot of disadvantages from those times. They require you to coordinate too many actions to achieve success which is kind of irritating at times. Sometimes battles are up to 20 minutes long.
