Street Fighter V is an upcoming side-scrolling fighting video game published by Capcom and co-developed by Dimps and Capcom on the Unreal Engine 4. It is the fifth main installment in Capcom’s Street Fighter series.
Street Fighter V features the same side-scrolling fighting gameplay like previous games in the series. Two fighters are shown on the screen in a fight, with one fighter on one side of the screen and another fighter on the other side. Fighting involves kicks, punches, and special moves and combos specific to different characters, pretty much everything featured in the previous game: Street Fighter IV. Street Fighter V also features the EX gauge, which was first introduced in Street Fighter III. The gauge builds with continuous attacks and ultimately can be used to either perform Critical Arts or power up special moves. Focus Attacks are not included in the game.
A new feature introduced in the game is the V-Gauge, which builds when a player is takes damage. V-Gauge unlocks three new techniques: V-Reversals, V-Skills, and V-Triggers. V-Reversals allow players to perform counter attacks .V-Skills are special attacks specific to each fighter. Those special attacks can also be used to charge V-Gauge. On the other hand, V-Triggers allow the player to perform a unique ability of the fighter. An additional feature called Stun Gauge, allows a fighter to absorb attack damage for a few seconds, it is added in the game to encourage offensive approach.
Street Fighter V Beta 3 is Live on PS4. The beta features some new gameplay tweaks for certain characters, for example, a few changes for the V-Skill of Chun Li with a shorter hitbox but an improved startup. While PS4 players can enjoy the Street Fighter V beta, PC gamers have to wait, as there is no live beta available on this platform.
