Those who prefer Dreamcast must be familiar with Shenmue which was released exclusively for this platform. The new part of the game is already coming. What to expect? The new storyline and new features as well as the fourth part.
As the developers promise the third part will be released in December 2017.
The plot of this part starts from the ending of the previous game. The action is set in 1987. Ryo Hazuki has finally reached China where he hopes to find Lan Di who killed his father. Somehow, Ryo finds a new companion. Her name is Shenhua Ling. She tells him a legend about her village which unites them both. Together they try to find Chi You Men gang as well as Lan Di.
However, the developers promise that this part isn’t the final one and the plot won’t stop here. The fourth part is highly likely to be released later on.
Shenmue 3 is planned to be released for PlayStation 4 and PC. Other details are kept in disguise yet.
Shenmue 3 is Sega’s exclusive game no more. The low financial feedback and other details stopped them from developing this series and now we can see it on PS 4 and PC. Presumably the game will not be very different from the previous version with the exception of the storyline.
Ryo Hazuki. The main character of the series. His mother died when he was seven years old. His father was killed by Lan Di. His older now and still looking for his father’s killer. He’s still perfect at martial arts.
The game passing to the new consoles doesn’t seem to touch upon the gameplay process drastically. The caharcter still moves according to the typical PS\PC scheme. The fighting process doesn’t offer any improvements and stays closer to the previous versions of the game. The character still explores the game world looking for clues about his father murderer. The world itself is still of open type. This means that shops work according to the timetable, buses arrive on time, many things change during the gaming process. Many objects are still not interactive but the mini games present making the whole process more interesting.
Despite change of the platform the Shenmue series continues to survive. The game looks rather linear and monotonous but for those who are interested in the plot the new part will be a good addition. New characters, a few more skills and new story twists which won’t tell you all the secrets but will give much more questions to answer.
