Even though Shantae: Half-Genie Hero has gained popularity on Kickstarter the game hasn’t become any closer to the market. So here’s what we know so far about this belly-dancing platformer.
When does Shantae Half Genie Hero come out? This question hurts. The game has been officially confirmed to come in the 4th quarter of 2016. However, 2016 is coming to end but there’s no news on when to expect the game. Shantae Half Genie Hero delayed? Definitely. Can we expect in the near future? Hardly. Even though developers give promises on Kickstarter where they raise funds for the new part, they still don’t bother to bring Shantae to life. So, it feels like we’re not going to try the game this year. Nevertheless, developers say that they hope to release the game in the end of November which is difficult to believe in,
Crowd funding kills games!
Whenever a game appears on Kickstarter or any other crowd funding platform its destiny is almost over. Developers do raise money, they do spend it on the game but the result is disappointing. Just like in case with Shantae: Half-Genie Hero in most cases fans are kept in anticipation while developers publish new details and even screenshots. It all ends up in vain because such games are never released though. It’s a shame to see how potentially interesting games die on such platforms! We can only hope now that Shantae will have a different destiny.
The game is promised to be a multi-platformer. We can expect it to be released for PC, Xbox One, Wii U. PlayStation is also on the list. The game will be developed for the fourth generation of PS. It’s not going to be different from other versions offering gamers the same gameplay along with the same level of graphics. The storyline is said to stay unchanged as well. PS4 release will not be delayed. So, if Shantae Half-Genie Hero will come, it will come on every console. By the way PS Vita is also considered as potential platform for the belly-dancer. This version will stick to the main storyline but it’s said to change some of its features. Which one? It takes time to answer.
To those of you who have lost the hope to see Hal-Genie Hero there’s something inspiring. This is a PC demo where you can enjoy 15 minutes of gameplay.
It’s true the game was planned to come on PS3 as well as Xbox 360. Things have changed. When developers delayed their release from September to the end of November they disappointed last-gen consoles owners. Release for PS3 and Xbox 360 got cancelled. Developers say that they need more time to polish the final release which will look great on next-gen consoles while previous generation simply can’t support such a game.
