Risk Factions is a downloadable video game developed by Stainless Games and published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 3 via PlayStation Network, Xbox 360, and Windows via Steam. The game was announced on 21 December, 2010 for PlayStation 3. Risk Factions is based on the popular board game by Hasbro, known as Risk.
The game features single player mode as well as online multiplayer mode. Offline single player campaign consists of 5 chapters. Each of these 5 chapters unlock one of the total 5 factions. The single player gameplay mode is identical to 2008’s Risk rule set. Players have to complete three main objectives and take control of their capital in order to win. An alternate way of winning is to defeat all the opponents.
Although the core gameplay is similar to Risk, but there are also some extra features included in Risk PS3 2015 including terrain features and overkills. Players can acquire overkill feature by rolling two or three sixes. Two sixes enable the player to destroy twice the units of an enemy as opposed to normal. Three sixes allow the destruction off all the enemy’s units in the battle.
Some maps have some special terrain features, for example, volcano, which can kill or erupt many surrounding units, or the temple, that enable players to convert a certain country of their choice and all its units to their color.

Risk Factions is basically about rolling the dice. Despite the fact that some extra features have been added, the core gameplay is still about crossing fingers and rolling dice. The new frills, cartoon personality, and frills don’t make up for the absence of strategic depth of the game, and playing solo is not as much fun as playing multiplayer because of the poor AI.
Initially, Risk Factions looks an improved version of the old game known as Parker Brothers with trendy attitude and comic-strip armies. There are two different approaches to play the game: Factions Offshoot and Regular Risk, but those two are often mixed due to the five armies selected for their kid friendliness. Matches have been modified in Risk Factions due to the new rules and greater focus on strategic planning. Now you can win games by taking over capitals and completing objectives.
