PES 2016 is simply an evolution in soccer games. An amazing mix of realistic physics and control over the in-game players that wasn’t available in previous PES games. Controls are improved and simpler than before. From controlling the players with a smooth functionality of passes and dribbles and sometimes between AI, every feature of the gameplay is easily understandable and feels ready to play for new comers as well as veterans alike.
The Master League mode comes with a lot of new features and additional options which makes the gameplay even more fun. Scouts are available for guidance. They can suggest different players according to various weak areas we have in a team. Contract renewals and negotiations are always present throughout the season. The Team Roles feature introduces a level up system for players which allows them to level up as the game is played. It also helps with creating different bonuses for the team and provide additional money as well.
Every year FIFA and PES introduce a lot of new features and improvements that effect the overall performance and recognition of these two games. But the new collision system introduced in PES 2016 is a true revelation. The PES series has already been using the Fox Engine, the same technology of graphics employed in Metal Gear Solid V till now, but it’s the new physics engine that revolutionized the game.
It’s not essentially about how realistic the ball’s movement is, instead it’s more about the players’ physicality. The way you barge and jostle opponents achieves a level of realism never found in any other soccer game.
Despite the fact that the animations are still not as good as FIFA but they’re still exceptional. PES 2016 may not be perfect, but it is definitely a step forward for the series which was already improving every year.
